 The hunger artist by Franz Kafka 

Reflection journal, 

The hunger artist by kafka the name itself suggest that artist never find good material for his work . The story is metamorphically used as that we are always searching things ahead , like there is a concept of music same its like " crescendo life " the most important work is always ahead never behind. I think kafka give the idea here . The story as Kaka start by mocking on today's proud that now a day there is a no audience to appreciate the artist then kafka talk about past time , your people come to see the work of art kafka put the main character engage I think he want to show that artist always live in his own world artist is always caged by his on thoughts in the story there are a lot of people Shown as audience to see hunger artist . The audience has different perspective the children for excitement and the old one just for trend etc. Franz Kafka shows that there is a different type of people who judge your by their perspective. I don't understand why Kafka show the main character "fasting". Because fasting is associated with religion but I don't think here is any religious perspective. Well I think kafka here shows "artist blockage" or stage name " writer's blockage". Artist when don't find good material for his work then artist avoid the work like in the story when hungry artist fast, the audience their come to see if he is not eating or anything else. I think kafka want us to show that when the artist have "Artist block" the people think that Artist is must creating some masterpiece. As in story when audience annoyed the artist, the artist itself doesn't like this. I think here Kafka says that when people / Audience disturbs artist, it hurt the artist . Here kafka shows about The psyche of Artist that artist doesn't like that kind of people who just disturb them. In story, it's shown that Artist fast for real but audience doesn't believe him. Here i think Kafka is bringing the topic of plagiarism. Alot of people blame artist to plagiarize someone else work without any proof. Here, maybe he use fasting as metaphor for plagiarism and audience doesn't believe him, Is like people does not believe in real work of artist. 

In Story where hunger artist caged was placed outside near animal cage , instead of main attraction in center of ring . It feel dissappointed to Artist when people like the animals more then his work. Here i think kafka shows that the people love the other activities rather then art. He feel dashing hope for it. In the end of Story, when a person ask him why he fast , the artist says because he did not find the food he want to eat then he died . 

I think the end was very philosophical that Every person Search for things, passions, work and objective in life. life. But But alot of people don't find it . They die with that hope that to search it but they fail.
